Alumni serve as a vital bridge between Jesuit’s values and the promise of its future. A January snow storm postponed the annual career day yet could not dim the enthusiasm of nearly 20 alumni—from business management and pharmacy to renewable energy and video game development—recently returned to campus to share their knowledge and experience with young Blue Jays.

Each speaker presented insights into their professional field, discussing their background, the steps they took to achieve their careers, and practical details like industry standards and salary ranges. Speakers reflected on how their Jesuit education influenced their career paths, instilling values that guided them on their professional journeys. Throughout the day, students engaged with presentations, slideshows, and discussions, drawing inspiration from alumni who have gone before them.

By sharing insights and lessons learned from their diverse career paths, alumni enrich campus life and provide meaningful guidance to current students as they explore both academic challenges and professional aspirations. These connections nurture a sense of community by empowering students to follow a path of service and thoughtful leadership.

Career Day is a project put on by the Alumni Office in conjunction with the Guidance Office. Both the classroom and auditorium sessions saw Jesuit’s alumni serve as great resources for today’s Blue Jays. Alumni participation in Career Day is a meaningful way in which Blue Jay alumni reconnect and give back to their alma mater.
