Academic Games Blue Jays Win High Honors at National Competition

The following eleven students represented Jesuit at the National Academic Games Competition in Knoxville, TN from April 25- 28. Each individual was on an award-winning team: seniors Stanley Dai and Kevin Yokum; junior Matthew Sentilles; sophomores William Dowling, Mayank Mardia, and Logan Yokum; and pre-freshmen Michael Farrugia, David Gravolet, Manuel Molina, Caleb Rogers, and Tanner Tripolli.

Individual Awards

There were a number of individuals that placed in the top 3 in individual events: David Gravolet—3rd in Presidents; Mayank Mardia—2nd in Presidents, 3rd in On-Sets, 3rd in equations; Caleb Rogers—1st in presidents; and Kevin Yokum—3rd in Presidents.

Overall Sweepstakes

The following young men were acknowledged for their outstanding performances with overall sweepstakes awards: Mayank Mardia – 5th in junior division, Matt Sentilles – 10th in senior division, and Kevin Yokum – 3rd in senior division.

Award Winning Teams

The team of Farrugia, Gravolet, Molina, Rogers and Tripoli finished 3rd in Presidents and 1st in Propaganda in the Middle Division.

Jesuit students playing in the Junior and Senior divisions played on composite teams with students from Mount Carmel, Brother Martin, and/or Ben Franklin.

The Junior division team on which Mardia played finished 4th in Propaganda, 2nd in Presidents, and 4th in the overall (“Sweeps”) rankings.

The Junior division team on which Logan Yokum played finished 3rd in Propaganda.

The Junior division team on which Dowling played finished 5th in Propaganda.

The Senior division team on which Sentilles played finished 3rd in On-Sets, 2nd in Equations, 4th in Propaganda, and 2nd overall.

The Senior division team on which Kevin Yokum and Dai played finished 1st in Propaganda, 5th in Presidents, and 4th overall.
