Cheerleaders Participate with 2014 Buddy Walk
The Jesuit Cheerleaders were honored to participate in the 2014 Buddy Walk on Oct. 25 to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk program was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. The name Buddy Walk promotes inclusion between friends of every ability.
Cheerleaders encouraged and danced with an excited crowd to warm up with Zumba. After the warm up, the cheerleaders took their place on the route to cheer on the walkers. After the walk, the Blue Jays joined the crowd to celebrate with the participants.
