Jesuit’s Quiz Bowl team has won the state Division I championship for the seventh consecutive year in the Louisiana Association for Academic Competition (LAAC).

The LAAC, the state’s official quiz bowl organization, has existed for 24 years. In that time, Jesuit’s Quiz Bowl team has won the Division I championship 15 times. This year’s team continued that tradition on Saturday, March 14, at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Team members are seniors Alex Daigle, Brett Lorio, captain Sam Zelden, and Patrick Fine, and juniors Anthony Stoner and D.J. Ogbomah.

The LAAC provides an opportunity for high school students to participate in quiz bowl at the regional and state level. Approximately 100 schools each year join the state association. Students engage in spirited competition demonstrating their mastery of a wide range of knowledge. The state championship is held at Northwestern State University each spring.
