Blue Jays Finish 2 for 2 in Tournament Play

At Noel B. Suarez Stadium on the campus of Chalmette High School, the Blue Jays lost two games. On Saturday, the Jays came out on the short end of an 11-10 slug fest against the St. Paul’s Wolves. And in the Sunday match against the Shaw Eagles, the Jays fell 5-3.

On Friday night, Jesuit came away with a 4-2 win over Ruston at Kirsh-Rooney in the Blue Jays’ second game of the Brother Martin Tournament. With the win, the Blue Jays’ improved their record to 2-0.

Junior Spencer Miller drove in the game’s first run in the bottom of the opening inning. Junior Blake Baker came up with fourth-inning hit that drove in two runs to give the Blue Jays a 3-1 lead. Brett Leonhard (1-0) picked up the win by striking out five batters in four innings.

In the season opener at the Brother Martin Tournament at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium, the team beat the Fontainebleau Bulldogs, 11-0, by the ten-rule.

Senior pitcher Cody Migliore earned his first win of the new season, while senior Mitch Alexander led the Jays offensively going 3 for 3 at the plate and chalking up 2 RBIs.
