Senior Chase Rushing scored two goals and senior Jose Aleman added a goal off a penalty kick and an assist to lead the Jesuit soccer team to a 5-0 shutout of the John Ehret Patriots on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at West Jefferson High School.

Senior Dillon Fuchs opened up the scoring for the Jays in the 20th minute off a throw in by sophomore Braden Brignac. Rushing scored the next goal four minutes later off an assist by Aleman.

Nine minutes into the second half, Aleman netted his penalty kick. That was followed up with another Rushing goal, this one in the 74th minute off an assist by junior Evan Hatrel.

Senior Cole Retif added a goal shortly before time expired off an assist from senior Connor Maheu.

The win was the second straight 5-0 shutout for the Jays, who blanked Chalmette earlier in the week by the same score. The team’s record now stands at 4-1 for the season.
