Jesuit’s soccer team raised its record to 8-2 on the season with a 2-0 win over Bonnabel on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at John Ryan Stadium. Seven of Jesuit’s eight wins on the season have been shutouts.

Senior José Aleman scored the team’s first goal of the night off an assist by sophomore Braden Brignac in the 31st minute of the first half. Senior Chase Rushing added a goal moments before halftime, giving the Jays a 2-0 lead that would hold up for the rest of the evening.

Jesuit won’t have much time to enjoy the win over the Bruins. The Jays play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday nights. The Rummel Raiders will visit John Ryan Stadium on Friday, Dec. 11 for a key district match-up. Game time is 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 12, Jesuit invites soccer alumni and their families to John Ryan Stadium to see the Jays take on perennial Mississippi power Ocean Springs. The alumni reunion party in Pontiff Pavilion begins at 3 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 4.
