Registration is now open for the 2016-2017 Studying Skillful Teaching Course By Research for Better Teaching (RBT).

2016-2017 Course Information

Location: Jesuit High School, 4133 Banks St., New Orleans LA 70119

When: Monday – Thursday, July 25 – July 28, 2016; Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016; and Saturday, March 11, 2017. The course consists of a total of six class days, 37.5 hrs.

Cost: $880 per participant. RBT accepts appropriately approved Title II funds for tuition.

Times: 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

To be held, the course must have a minimum of 25 participants by June 1, 2016. Interested applicants must register by June 1, 2016. Space is limited to 38 participants.

About Studying Skillful Teaching

“Studying Skillful Teaching” is a graduate level course that supports teachers by enhancing their instructional practices which lead students to higher levels of critical thinking and rigorous engagement.

Participants may earn three hours of graduate credit or credit for certification. Research for Better Teaching is authorized to offer a graduate credit option through Fitchburg State University (FSU) located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. The course and its requirements must be successfully completed in order to earn the credit. The fee for three graduate credits is $335.

Teachers and administrators from across the city and south have participated in the SST course: Jesuit New Orleans, Jesuit Tampa, Archbishop Chapelle, Cabrini, Ursuline Academy, Brother Martin, Holy Cross, Archbishop Hannan, St. Matthew the Apostle, Firstline Schools, Science Academy, John Dibert Community School, St. John’s (Plaquemines), and St. Clement of Rome.
