Senior Matt Felger scored 37 points to lead the Blue Jays to a thrilling 59-57 double-overtime victory over the Holy Cross Tigers on Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Bird Cage. With the score tied at 57 and only 20 seconds left on the double overtime clock, junior Brett Spansel attempted a fast-breaking layup — only to see the ball skirt the rim. But Felger snagged the rebound and put it in for two as the buzzer sounded. The Bird Cage erupted in a wild celebration among Blue Jay fans. Final score: Jays 59, Tigers 57. The Jays travel to East St. John on Thursday, Dec. 13, to play a non-district game. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
