Not So “Swift,” 2001 Alumnus Wins Again on Jeopardy!
Air Force captain Stuart Anderson ’01, currently stationed in Europe, told Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek that he plans to spend his game show winnings on a pair of Lederhosen. He’ll have plenty of money left over. Anderson won $9,999 during his appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 16, giving him a two-day total of $26,800.
Anderson, who helped Jesuit win three quiz bowl divisional titles and one state championship during his days at Carrollton and Banks, misfired in Final Jeopardy!, guessing that Whitney Houston was the first female singer after Aretha Franklin and Madonna to chart over 40 top 40 hits. The correct question was, “Who is Taylor Swift?” Despite the sour note, Anderson still finished $9,996 ahead of his closest challenger.
Anderson’s next appearance is Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.
