Swimming Wins District 9-5A Championships

Jesuit beat out Holy Cross, Brother Martin, and Archbishop Rummel to capture the District 9-5A swimming championships Saturday, Oct. 19, at the UNO Lakefront Arena. Blue Jay teams took first place in the 200 yard medley relay and 400 yard freestyle relay and took second place in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Individual swimmers taking first place were junior Chris Simmons in the 200 yard individual medley and junior Michael Conrad in the 500 yard freestyle.

Jesuit finished with 587 points to defeat Holy Cross (383 points), Brother Martin (342.5), and Archbishop Rummel (304.5).

Breast Cancer Awareness Invitational Meet Results

This win follows last week’s first place win in the Breast Cancer Awareness Invitational Meet at UNO. In that meet, Jesuit finished with 589.5 points topping nine schools, with a distant second place finisher Brother Martin with 345 points.

The Jays will next compete against Northshore in Slidell on Monday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m.
