Debate Duo Ranks as Highest Overall Team in Dallas Tournament

Jesuit’s Public Forum Debate team of junior Mayank Mardia and senior Rishab Chimmanamada finished in a tie for 9th place at the Grapevine Classic in Dallas.

Mayank was awarded the 4th place Speaker Award and Rishab was awarded the 7th place Speaker Award, making them the team with the highest overall ranked speakers at the tournament.

Mardia and Chimmanamada have competed together as a team for three years.  They are part of a 23-member team that has 15 returning members and eight new novices for the 2014-15 school year.

The award-winning Debate Team competes in Advanced Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and Public Forum Debate throughout the school year.

Sept. 12-13: Grapevine (Dallas, TX)

Oct. 3-4: Holy Cross (New Orleans)

Oct. 17-19: Bronx Science (New York, NY)

Nov. 7-8: Apple Valley (Minneapolis, MN) and Mt. Carmel (New Orleans)

Nov. 22-24: Glenbrooks (Chicago, IL)

Dec. 5-6: St. Augustine (New Orleans)

Dec. 12-14: Isidore Newman (New Orleans)
