Rick McDermott ’86

From the class of 1986, Rick McDermott’s commitment to serving the National MS Society has earned him a spot in the organization’s National Volunteer Hall of Fame and recognition by Charlotte Magazine as Charlottean of the Year 2014 (Volunteer). He credits his perseverance and devotion for the cause to lessons learned in the faith-based curriculum at Jesuit High School and Marquette University that included a focus on service—what McDermott calls “being a man for others.”
