Track and Field Athletes Advance to State Meet
At the Class 5A regional meet in Thibodaux on Wednesday night, the Blue Jay track and field team took 5th place, while several individuals qualified for the state meet. One Blue Jay, junior Patrick LaCour, captured the 800 meter title with a time of 2:00.50.
State Meet Qualifiers
The following Blue Jays earned points, helping the team to the strong regional finish, despite stiff competition:
- Anthony Genova – 200m Dash
- Liam Fitzgerald – 3200m Run
- Matthews Vargas – 3200m Run
- Austin Schott – Pole Vault (State Qualifier)
- Patrick LaCour – 800m Run (State Qualifier)
- Gabe Navat – 800m Run (State Qualifier)
- Chris Mills – 110m Hurdles (State Qualifier)
- Bobby Comeaux, Anthony Genova, Gabe Navar, Patrick Lacour – 4x400m Relay team (State Alternate)
