The Blue Jays took first place in the Louisiana Classics Wrestling Tournament at Exerfit of Baton Rouge on Jan. 17-19. The Blue Jays were led by Guy Patron, who had a dominant 15-0 performance over Covington’s Brendan Allen at 184 pounds. Several “Varsity B’s” subbed in for regular starters and helped the Jays advance to the semifinals and hold on to the lead.

The Blue Jays now reset their focus on district play at a dual meet against Archbishop Rummel High School on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at home in the Birdcage.
