Senior Gaston Eymard (160) defeats his opponent at the St. Paul’s dual meet on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in the Birdcage. The meet was especially memorable for Eymard and four of his classmates as it was their last home meet as Blue Jay wrestlers.

It was a night of reflection for many Blue Jay wrestlers, past and present, as the wrestling team hosted not only St. Paul’s in its final dual meet of the season, but also an alumni reunion prior to the meet on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The night was capped off by a 54-18 win over St. Paul’s Catholic School.

The evening was especially memorable for seniors, as it marked their final home meet. In a ceremony prior to the start of the meet, five seniors honored their parents and loved ones by presenting them with a rose at center mat.

The team is making its final preparations for the LHSAA Wrestling State Tournament, which will be held on Feb. 21 – 22, 2014 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, LA.
