The class of 1988 and Coach Mark Songy.

The Class of 1988 gathered at the Lakeview Harbor restaurant on Feb. 26 for a special evening of connection, not just with each other but with the Jesuit of today. The ’88ers enjoyed conversation and dinner and then heard from their special guest, Coach Mark Songy, who guided the Blue Jay football team to the state championship this year.

Speaking for nearly an hour, Coach Songy gave the guys an inside view of the season and its incredible finale.

Class leader James Adams reports, “It was a wonderful evening and a great opportunity to hear about the JHS championship season directly from the coach. Coach Songy was most gracious and generously offered us his unique perspective of the season and the big game. We were able to share with him our excitement and experiences of the championship season. It was a great evening celebrating with our classmates.”

The feeling was certainly mutual as Coach Songy noted, “It was great being with the 1988 guys. We knew this accomplishment was important to the whole Jesuit community and this event proves that.”

Brian Kirn organized the successful class event.

Attending were Brian Kirn, Daren Dupepe, Stephen Lundgren, Dowen Fife, Billy Stouder, John Steger, Bart Kelly, Al Bienvenu, Mike Johnson, Tom Daly, Sean Gautreaux, Kevin Wiseman, Stephen Crouch (in town from Denver, Co.), Billy Burke, Tom Grady, William Young, and James Adams.
