Homecoming Tuesday: Birds of Badminton
The Student Council has organized a stress-free Jesuit Country Club theme for Homecoming Week 2015 with daily lunchtime activities. Students launched the week of festivities on Monday, Sept. 21 with a shuffleboard competition in the Student Commons.
The Birds of Badminton invaded the Traditions Courtyard on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Well, a slight exaggeration. Blue Jays didn’t exactly swarm the badminton court set up for the matches that took place during lunch on Homecoming Tuesday. But the Blue Jays who participated in the doubles matches had a good time swatting that shuttlecock, aka: bird, birdie, shuttle. Matches were abbreviated with the first team reaching 7 points declared the winner. But the Birds of Badminton could care less about winning. The goal of this “bad” activity was to net some fun. And that they did.
Schedule of Lunchtime Activities

Tuesday – Birds of Badminton (View the Photo Gallery)
Wednesday – TBA
Thursday – Senior/Faculty Football on Will Clark Field

Homecoming Game
Homecoming Week will conclude with a football game for the entire Jesuit community to attend. The Jays will open district play — and simultaneously stage their Homecoming game — against St. Augustine on Friday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium. Pre-sale tickets are $6 for adults and students and $3 each for children (ages 6-11). Tickets are on sale daily at the switchboard from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. All tickets purchased at the gate are $8 each. Student and faculty IDs, as well as season passes, will be accepted at the gate for this district contest.
