Truth & Glory Brings Together Jesuit and Dominican Students
Truth & Glory, a night of ministry for Jesuit and Dominican students, was held on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, in the Holy Name Chapel. This third installment of the popular event, brought together over 50 students to meet others who share a love for Christ and a desire to be His disciple. The night included and hour of Eucharistic adoration with music and a reflection given by seminarian John Guerra, ’14.
Guerra spoke compellingly to the crowd about the importance of making Christ the center of their lives. Drawing on quotes from the catechism and the writings of the saints, Guerra’s testimony help put their other relationships and future choices in the proper context of faithful discipleship. After the talk, students spent valuable time before the Blessed Sacrament in private prayer. The Sacrament of Reconciliation was available throughout the holy hour. A social with refreshments followed in St. Ignatius Hall.
Students found Truth & Glory to be a great way to grow in the expectation of the coming of Jesus at Christmas. In addition to the rest afforded by a break from studies for the holiday, this opportunity for prayer helped participants experience a rest of the Spirit, which comes from knowing that Christ’s greatest desire is to be near us. The fourth installment of Truth & Glory will be hosted by Dominican High School in the spring.
