Tulane’s Emerson Gibbs ’12 Finds His Groove Against Privateers
Tulane pitcher, Emerson Gibbs ’12, whose efforts contributed to a Jesuit state championship in 2011 and an American Legion world championship in 2012, notched his first win as a collegiate starter on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Gibbs, who struck out seven Privateer batters, flirted with a no-hitter before giving up a single in the 7th inning at Tulane’s Turchin Field. The Wave won the game, 4-0. Gibbs, who was named the American Legion National Player of the Year for his pitching performance in 2012, is a junior at Tulane. He is studying finance at Tulane’s Freeman School of Business.
