A sophomore fine arts student asks Paul McCrae a question during a class assignment in the Jesuit Auditorium. Maestro McCrae helped create and is the host of a video series called “Discovering The Orchestra,” a series that Joe Caluda ’79 has shown his fine arts classes for the last 25 years. British born and educated in the United States, McRae was trained at the world famous Juilliard School in New York, the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Sienna, Italy. He began his professional musical career as a trumpet player by becoming the youngest permanent member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at only 19.
