Regular Order, Day 7
- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place today until 3pm in the 2nd floor chapel.
- Mission Drive is in full swing and we have already raised just over $8,000 to benefit the mission in Belize. All Blue Jays are encouraged to contribute to our final goal of $15,000 by participating in Fresh Kick Fridays, the Faculty Auction, and many other events.
- The chess team is excited to host its annual chess tournament starting next week. The entry fee is just $5, with proceeds supporting the Mission Drive. To register, use the link provided and submit your monetary donation to Mr. Campos during the first half of lunch in the commons or after school in Room 309/311. Registration is open until Friday and tournament play will begin next Monday. The champion will take home a one-of-a-kind JHS Chess Piece trophy.
- For those who are interested fasting today by means of only bread and water, the Evangelization team will have bread available for a minimal purchase in the Campus Ministry Room during lunch. Proceeds go to the Mission Drive.
- All Juniors attending the April Kairos must meet today during the first lunch in the auditorium.
- The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
- The varsity track and field team will compete in the Ronnie Doyle Invitational this afternoon and evening at Joe Yenni Stadium.
- The varsity rugby team will play at Strake Jesuit in Houston on Saturday.
- The varsity baseball team will host Brother Martin on Saturday at John Ryan Stadium with first pitch set for 12:00.
- The jv baseball team will host Brother Martin this evening at John Ryan starting at 5:30.
- Today is Fresh kicks Friday. Every homeroom that has turned in $200 to the Mission Drive is permitted to wear fresh kicks today. Each student in these homerooms who is wearing fresh kicks will be given a bracelet. Homeroom teachers are reminded that only those students wearing fresh kicks should receive bracelets. Every student wearing fresh kicks must have the bracelet on the entire school day. The bracelet will indicate they are allowed to wear the shoes and will not be given a PH for being out of dress code. Any student not wearing the proper bracelet and wearing fresh kicks will receive a PH.
- Jesuit students and girls from Catholic schools are invited to attend the Campus Ministry Night next Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. There will be games, a talk by Mrs. D, Adoration, and Confession. Food and drinks will be provided.
- Jesuit is sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, April 10 in the Student Commons. Students must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. You can sign up in homeroom or with Mrs. Tassin in Room 317. Please sign up by Friday, April 4.
- Any senior who has not picked up his graduation announcements should do so today at the end of homeroom in Room 131, the Student Activities Officel

- Congratulations to the track & field team for their win at the Crusader Relays on Friday and for Brandt Blanchard winning the 800m at Catholic high on Saturday with a school record 1:51.95. That’s an all time top 10 time in Louisiana and the #11 time in the country this season.
- On Saturday, March 15, the chess team participated in the USCF New Orleans Scholastic Tournament at St. Augustine High School, delivering an outstanding performance. The team secured first place overall, with freshman Arav Kamboj leading the way, earning an impressive second-place finish. Freshman Austin Janusa and prefreshman Kristofferson Mercadel also had strong showings, both ranking in the top five. Aidan Thomas and Yousef Fallaha put up commendable performances as well helping the team advance into first place.
- Congratulations to the Jesuit Golf Team on their 157 to 171 victory over the Holy Cross Tigers at English Turn Country Club. The low round of the match was fired by Junior Nelson Bensel who shot an even par round of 36.
- Last week the Jesuit tennis team defeated Ben Franklin 8-0, Newman 7-1, and St. Thomas More 8-3. Senior Jake Bravo, won his singles line 1 match 8-2, and doubles line 2 with senior Andrew Cavallino 8-2. Leo Congeni and Scott Harper both seniors won doubles line 1 8-1. Congeni also won singles line 2 8-1 and Harper won his doubles line 3 8-0. Senior Iggy Miles also played singles. Lastly, Senior Gabe Goodson and junior JP Costella played doubles line 3 and won 8-2.
- On Saturday, two teams of Jesuit student attorneys competed in the Region 4 Mock Trial tournament held at the Jefferson Parish courthouse in Gretna. Twelve teams participated in a mock civil case involving alleged defamatory conduct. After two preliminary rounds, Jesuit’s all junior team of attorneys, Ben Farmer, Christopher Juge, Everett Kramer, and Derek Moore, and witnesses, Grant Carroll, Aidan McKoin, Paul Sparacello, and Isaac Uhlich, advanced to the final round, placing second. The team still advances to the State Mock Trial competition this Saturday in Lafayette. Jesuit’s younger team of attorneys, Mike Graugnard, Charles Juge, Jackson Lane, Parker Lilly, and Finnegan Moore, and witnesses, William Moore and Lodovico Vignes, performed admirably but did not advance. In individual awards, Ben Farmer tied for best attorney, and Isaac Uhlich and Lodovico Vignes tied for best witness.
- On Tuesday, the varsity baseball team defeated Holy Cross 6-1. Connor Donnelly pitched a complete game and scattered three hits. Michael Brothers, Tyler Sciambra, and Ryan Saunders had multiple hits.
- The 8th-grade baseball team defeated Holy Cross 6-1 on Wednesday to improve its record to 9-1-1. The Jays were led by the stellar pitching of Cooper Ryan, who spun a 4-hit complete game for the win. Jaxon Alcantar led the Jays at the plate with a double, a triple, and two RBI. Jack Grace, C.J. Newsom, and Braden Chadwick also got key hits to propel the Jays to victory. Congratulations.
- The Beach Volleyball Squad kicked off its district play with a dominant win over Rummel. Doubles teams comprised of Luca Marcello & Caleb Alexis, Kale Lee & Tilden Devine, Joseph Pourciau & Ryder Stewart, all swept their sets. And if that wasn’t enough, the quad squads also won their matches. The Jays’ next district opponent is Brother Martin on Wednesday at White Sands.
